Texas H2Oasis (texash2oasis.org) rescues, ground-trains, and adopts out mustangs, the treasured symbols of American freedom and independence. Since Texas H2Oasis is wholly dependent upon donations, thank you for attending the first annual barn tour and supporting this mustang rescue!

Tour five premier barns of the Driftwood / Dripping Springs / Austin area in this sequence:

1 (12:00-1:30) Bel Canto Over the creeks and through the fabulous Hill Country to a barn that combines hunter-jumper and dressage horses, the Dripping Strings ensemble playing Christmas carols, catered tapas by the Silk Apron, plus a chance to win a Riding Lesson package. Suzanne Warmack, 3901 Mount Gainor Road, Dripping Springs (512) 797-1178.

2 (1:00-2:30) Graymar Farm Local community leader Penny Reeves-Goff has graciously opened her “horse n’ human friendly,” English and Western barn to visitors. 4 (3:00-4:30) Red Barn Once used for prized brangus bulls, the old Hinkley ranch barn now features Texas H2Oasis’ adoptable mustang filly, Amber. 5 (4:00-5:00) Oakhaven Designed by John Blackburn, the main barn features a native-stone exterior, sky-lit central aisle, and steel mesh stall fronts. The 200x80 covered arena combines skylights and overhead flood lights for a bright and airy appeal. Take in the 200x125 outdoor arena and the covered exerciser / round pen that accommodates six horses simultaneously. View the riding trails and large paddocks.
