cared for by her SO, Kevin.
Detrich is a three, coming four-year old mare owned by
Sharon Lewis that has moved in with Sara, Kate, Venezia and

2009 Show Results |
Show Results from Ocala Winter Circuit 2009
The two weeks in Ocala were very successful for Oakhaven's
young horses. Tenacity was
the most competitive of the three, winning ribbons in all
but 1 of her classes, including 4th and 6th place in the 6
year old YJC classes. Corazon
moved up brilliantly, having only shown up to 1.00m in his 4
year old year, he came into Ocala and moved up to the 1.15m.
His double clear round in the 5 year old YJC class during
Week V earned him a 3rd place.
Tess improved brilliantly throughout the 2 weeks as well
and was jumping confidently around the 1.15m classes the
second week. Evan Vinson competed in several Equitation
divisions with his horse, Tucker, and won respectable
ribbons amongst tough competition, including a 3rd place in
the Intermediate Eq.
Show Results from Spring Gathering 2009
Laura and her students had a great week in Katy for the
Spring Gathering horse show. Laura rode her own mare, Tryst
OPL, to a 2nd place finish in the 6 year old YJC.
Michele Valkenaar's horse, Levi
OPL, made his showing debut in the Baby Green and
Hopeful Hunters and performed like a seasoned veteran after
only 3 days. Another horse making their debut as a
showjumper was former broodmare,
Levkoje (shown as Allison). She won a 2nd and 3rd in the
1.05m jumpers and also carried Evan Vinson into his first
Jumper class.
Show Results from Showjumping Classic 2009
Laura traveled to Tyler TX for a quick 3 days to show
Corazon and Tryst
OPL in the 5 and 6 year old YJC classes. Corazon
jumped clear in the 1.10m the first day and placed 3rd in
the 5 year old YJC with an unfortunate 4 fault score. Tryst
jumped a clear first round effort in the 6 year old YJC and
ended with a 7th place finish in the class.
Show Results from Blue Ribbon Festival II 2009
Both Cinco and
Eowyn made their showing
debuts in Waco, TX in June, competing in the .85m and .90m
jumpers. Eowyn proved her brilliance early on, winning a 5th
place in the .85m on the very first day.
Cinco gained a strong sense
of self confidence and by the 3rd day earned himself a 4th
place in the .85m jumpers. Both horses are on their way to
great careers.

AHHA Inspection Tour |
Oakhaven
Farm welcomed the AHHA judges Arlene Rigdon and Michael
Gonell along with Maggie Sjoberg to their inspection site in
Austin, TX on October 15th, 2008. After months of drought
the weather was cool and rainy but didn’t hamper the
approval process for thirty entries in the
recently-completed covered arena. The day featured 18 foals,
11 mares and the impressive preliminary stallion, Catch
Cardo TSH (Cathalido/Mycarda/CorofinoI) owned and bred by
Hans Degroot of Triple S Holsteiners. Catch Cardo TSH
received scores of 8,7,6,7,7,8,7 for a total of 50 bonits
and earned his preliminary permit. This is a lovely stallion
with a great mind and a beautiful jump. He earned
8,9,7 for his free-jumping
efforts.

Of the 11
mares presented, six earned premium mare status and all were
entered in the mare books. Site Champion with 47 bonits was
Eowyn OPL (Sir
Caletto/Primaballerina/Pablo) owned and bred by Oakhaven
Partners. Reserve Champion went to Ulrike
(Cathalido/Pauletta/CalidoI) owned by the Forest Abrams
Place Partners and bred by Hans Degroot. A crowd favorite
was Mount Gaylor who earned her way into the mare book with
her outstanding show record despite her age of 22 years and
an injury. We were all very happy that the new rules allowed
for this mare of quality to be admitted into the AHHA books.
Of the 18
foals presented, ten were considered premium. A crowd
pleaser was Hans Degroot’s Courchavel TSH (Chicardo/Morning
Mist/ Riverman) who scored a 9 on his extravagant movement.
